What's the One Supplement You Can't Train Without? 💪

Post by JaxBulk(JB) »

I've been lifting consistently for a few years now, and I've spent way too much money trying different supplements. Some were all hype, while others actually made a noticeable difference. If I could only keep one supplement for the rest of my training, I'd honestly pick creatine. It isn't flashy, but my strength has gone up, recovery feels better, and it's one of the few supplements that consistently delivers.
If you had to keep only ONE supplement in your gym bag, what would it be and why? I'm interested in hearing real experiences from people who actually train—not influencer ads or sponsored recommendations.

Whey protein for me. Hitting my protein goal every day would be almost impossible without it.

I've been training for almost eight years, and every time I experiment with expensive "next-generation" supplements, I always end up going back to the basics. Creatine, whey, good food, enough water, and solid sleep have consistently given me better results than any flashy product promising insane gains in thirty days.

Looks like creatine is getting a lot of votes already. I honestly expected more people to say pre-workout.

Black coffee before training has replaced every pre-workout I've ever bought. It's cheaper, gives me enough energy, and I don't get that awful crash afterward.

Electrolytes became a must once I started doing heavy leg days in the Texas heat. I sweat like crazy, and staying hydrated keeps my workouts from falling apart halfway through. I never paid attention to hydration before, but it's made a surprisingly big difference in both performance and recovery.

Citrulline malate. The pumps are ridiculous.

I actually haven't tried citrulline by itself yet. I've only had it mixed into pre-workouts, so maybe I need to give it a proper shot.

If I had to rank them, it'd be creatine first, whey second, caffeine third. Everything else is optional in my opinion. Social media makes it seem like you need ten different tubs to build muscle, but most experienced lifters I know keep things pretty simple and focus more on training hard than chasing every new supplement that gets released.
