Postpartum return-to-lifting journal - rebuilding slowly and on purpose
Cleared to train again after having my little one and starting a journal to keep myself patient. Goal is to rebuild core and strength slowly, not chase old numbers. Day one was humbling but it felt amazing to be back under a bar.

Following this closely - I'm a few months ahead on my own postpartum return and patience is everything. Rebuilding the core and breathing/bracing first pays off massively before you load heavy. You're doing it right by going slow.

That's reassuring to hear from someone further along. The core feels so different now.

Welcome back! The temptation to rush to your pre-pregnancy lifts is strong - resisting it is the smart move. Bodyweight and light loads done well now means no setbacks later. Your body will remember faster than you think.

From a recovery standpoint - prioritise sleep where you can (I know, with a newborn...) and don't measure progress against your old self. Measure against last week. Slow, consistent re-loading is exactly the right call.

Measuring against last week instead of old-me is a really healthy reframe, thank you.

This is going to be such a good log for other new mums. The honesty about it being humbling but joyful is so relatable. Cheering you on - update us often.

I will. Honestly just typing it out keeps me accountable and patient. Thank you all, this means a lot.
