Stretching vs Active Recovery, What Actually Works Better?
Stretching vs Active Recovery, What Actually Works Better?
After leg day I’m dead. I’ve tried stretching, foam rolling and just resting, but still get super stiff the next day. What helps you guys bounce back faster static stretching or light active recovery?
Re: Stretching vs Active Recovery, What Actually Works Better?
Light cardio the next day always helps me. Even a 15-min walk gets the blood flowing.

Same. Active recovery > sitting around sore. Stretching alone doesn’t do much for me.

I usually just rest completely, but I guess that’s why I’m always stiff for 3 days straight

Yeah bro, movement is medicine. Get moving, even if it’s just bodyweight squats or cycling.

Foam rolling post-lift + light cardio the next morning is my go-to combo. Cuts DOMS in half.

Static stretching works better at night for me, before bed. Muscles relax more.

That’s interesting I usually do it right after training. Maybe I’ll try before bed instead.

Stretching cold muscles post-lift can make soreness worse for some people. Try warming up again first.

Also hydrate like crazy. DOMS hits harder when you’re dehydrated.
