Are Electrolyte Mixes Becoming the New Pre-Workout?
Are Electrolyte Mixes Becoming the New Pre-Workout?
More people are using electrolytes + carbs instead of stims. Anyone feel better pumps or energy from it?

I switched about 4 months ago. 25–30g carbs + electrolytes pre/intra and the pumps are honestly better than most high-stim pre’s I’ve used. Energy feels steady instead of spiking.

Most people are just under-hydrated and over-caffeinated.

On heavy leg days I notice way better endurance with carbs + sodium. Not as amped, but I’m stronger set to set and don’t gas out halfway through.

OP here that’s what I’m noticing too. It’s not that cracked-out feeling, it’s just consistent output the whole workout. Pumps look fuller, especially when I bump sodium. I’m starting to think the stim-free route might be smarter long term.

I still keep a little caffeine (100mg or so), but nowhere near the 400mg scoops I used to take. My sleep improved a lot after backing off the heavy stims.

Sodium + carbs = cell volume. That’s real pump support, not just CNS hype.

During prep this setup saved me. Energy didn’t tank as hard and I didn’t feel flat walking into the gym.

The stim era might be fading. More guys are focusing on hydration, intra carbs, and recovery instead of just chasing the buzz. Honestly feels more sustainable.
