Training Alone or With a Gym Buddy?

Post by AndrewPd »

4.Been lifting solo for years, but thinking about switching it up. Do partners help you push harder or do they just slow things down?

I train better alone. No waiting around, no distractions, just get in and get the work done.

A good partner helps a lot, but only if you’re on the same page. Bad partners ruin workouts fast.

Heavy days like bench or squats are better with a partner. Everything else I prefer solo.

I’ve done both. Partner helps with motivation, but solo training keeps my focus sharper.

Most people say they want a partner, but then schedules never line up. Solo is more consistent.

Training partners are great when they’re serious. If not, it turns into more talking than lifting.

Sounds like it really comes down to the person. A solid partner could help, but solo training still seems hard to beat for consistency and focus.
