Anyone Still Keep a Old-School Training Journal?

Post by BrockCG »

I still write everything down instead of using apps. Feels more intentional. Curious if anyone else does it or if I’m just old now.

Still use a notebook too. Something about writing sets and reps makes it stick in my head better than tapping a screen.

I tried apps, but I get distracted. Pen and paper keeps me locked in during the workout.

Old-school journals hit different. Flipping back and seeing PRs from years ago is way more motivating than scrolling.

Exactly. I like being able to look back and see patterns instead of just numbers on a screen.

I do both now. Journal in the gym, app later if I want data. Best of both worlds.

Notebook never crashes, never needs updates, and doesn’t die mid-workout. That’s enough reason for me.

You’re not old you’re consistent. If it keeps you progressing, that’s what matters.
