Is Creatine Making Me Look Puffy or Am I Imagining It?
I’ve been running creatine mono for a few weeks and some days I swear I look extra watery. Anyone else getting random bloat, or is this just part of your body settling in?

Yeah creatine can pull some water into the muscles, but it shouldn’t make you look like you’re holding subcutaneous water. If you look puffy, check your sodium and carb intake for the day.

Creatine didn’t bloat me at all. High-sodium meals absolutely did. I’d track what you ate on the days you felt “watery.”

Good point my diet isn’t super consistent lately, so maybe it’s not the creatine. I’ll start paying attention to the high-sodium days.

If you switched brands or added flavored creatine, some of them have fillers that upset digestion and cause stomach bloat. Pure mono should be fine.

Same thing happened to me the first 10–14 days. My body adjusted and the watery look went away. Strength stayed up though.

Creatine doesn’t cause real bloat. Usually carbs + hydration.

Are you drinking enough water? Not hydrating enough while taking creatine can make you feel bloated because your body is holding onto whatever water is available.

I probably don’t drink enough honestly. I’ll try pushing more water and see if it helps.

I only get bloated when I take it on an empty stomach. Started mixing it with my post-workout shake and it fixed everything.
