Active recovery has become a big part of the conversation around smarter training, especially for lifters balancing heavy sessions, cardio, busy schedules, and muscle-building goals. Things like walking, easy cycling, mobility work, and light movement can help you stay active without piling on more fatigue. The key is keeping the intensity low enough that you're recovering instead of sneaking in another hard workout.
On the flip side, some lifters feel better with a complete rest day, while others struggle to take their foot off the gas because they don't want to lose momentum. The truth is, recovery isn't laziness, but active recovery isn't magic either. If you're turning every recovery session into hard cardio or another high-volume workout, you might be missing the whole point.
What's your move on recovery days: walking, mobility work, light cardio, or staying completely off your feet? And do you feel like it actually improves your next workout?
