Beyond Creatine & Protein: What Supplement Has Earned a Permanent Spot in Your Stack? 🏋️

Post by JustinWLT8 »

Creatine and protein are pretty much staples for most lifters, but once those are covered, the supplement game gets a lot more interesting. What actually deserves a permanent spot in the stack instead of sitting in the cabinet for three months and collecting dust? 😅
Some people swear by electrolytes for hydration and hard training sessions, while others keep caffeine, citrulline, magnesium, omega-3s, or a simple multivitamin in their daily routine. The best supplement probably isn’t the one with the loudest marketing—it’s the one that consistently fits your training, nutrition, recovery, and lifestyle.
For me, a supplement earns a permanent spot when I can actually justify using it consistently instead of just buying it because it’s trending. What supplement has become a non-negotiable part of your stack, and why?

Electrolytes, easy. 💧 I notice the difference on hard training days.

Magnesium has stayed in my routine because my recovery and sleep feel better when I’m consistent with it, especially during high-volume training weeks.

For me it’s caffeine, but I keep the dose reasonable. A good pre-workout boost can make a huge difference when I’m dragging after work, especially for those heavy leg days. ⚡

I’m with you on electrolytes. I used to overlook them completely, but once I started paying attention to hydration during longer sessions, it made more sense than adding another random supplement.

Citrulline is my pick. The pump and training feel are legit for me. 🔥

Omega-3s have been one of the few things I’ve kept around long term. It’s not some crazy “feel it instantly” supplement, but I like having something simple that supports the bigger picture of my nutrition.

Honestly, caffeine deserves a spot if you train early. ☕ I’m way more locked in.

I’d say electrolytes too, especially if you sweat a lot or train in a hot gym. I feel like people chase fancy performance products before getting the basics like fluids and sodium dialed in.

That’s probably the biggest theme here—stuff that supports the basics seems to last longer than whatever new supplement is trending on TikTok. If I can actually tell it helps my training routine, I’m much more likely to keep it around.
