For some lifters, smart equipment is a legit upgrade. Tracking reps, monitoring progress, following guided workouts, and adjusting resistance can make training more convenient, especially when you’re working out in a garage gym or squeezing sessions in between work and family life. On the other hand, a solid power rack, adjustable bench, dumbbells, and a barbell can still get the job done without apps, subscriptions, or another screen demanding your attention.
Personally, I think the equipment should fit your training style, not the other way around. If the tech helps you stay consistent, train with better control, and track progressive overload, it could be worth the investment. But if it just looks cool on social media and collects dust after two weeks, that’s an expensive paperweight.
What’s your take, gym crew? Would you invest in a smart home gym setup, or stick with the classic iron-and-steel approach?
