What’s Actually Worth Tracking?

Post by MerovBit »

I used to write down almost everything but eventually realized I only needed a few things to understand whether I was actually progressing.
Strength: key lifts, reps & how the sets felt.
Body: bodyweight, measurements & occasional progress photos.
Recovery: sleep, energy, soreness & overall fatigue.
Nutrition: calories and protein when I’m trying to change body composition.
Consistency: workouts completed & any sessions I had to modify.
And mainly bro keeping it simple makes the log much easier to maintain and actually useful over time.

I’d definitely include progress photos they show changes that the scale sometimes misses.🏋️👍🏻

I track my main lifts but don’t obsess over every accessory movement.

Sleep is worth recording a bad recovery can explain a lot of poor sessions.

Weekly averages are more useful to me than reacting to one day’s weight.

I like writing down how a workout felt. Numbers don’t always tell the whole story.

Measurements helped me during cutting when the scale stopped moving for a while.

The biggest thing is consistency a simple log you actually maintain beats a detailed one you abandon after two weeks🙌🏻
