Six Months Later: What Progress Are You Most Proud Of?
Six Months Later: What Progress Are You Most Proud Of?
Six months can change way more than just the number on the scale. I’m looking back at where I was six months ago, and honestly, the progress I’m most proud of isn’t even my biggest lift or how I look in the mirror. It’s being way more consistent, recovering better, and not letting one bad workout turn into a bad week.
I’m curious what everyone else considers a real win. Maybe it’s adding 50 lbs to a lift, finally seeing some muscle definition, hitting a bodyweight goal, fixing your form, or simply making the gym part of your lifestyle. What’s the one piece of progress from the last six months that you’re genuinely proud of?

My strength finally started moving again. I added around 40 lbs to my squat over six months without rushing the progression, and that felt way better than chasing random PRs every week.

For me, it’s my form. I used to ego lift way too much, especially on rows and presses. Dropping the weight, controlling the reps, and actually feeling the target muscle has made a bigger difference than I expected.

I’m down 15 lbs and still stronger than I was before.

Mine is probably recovery. I finally stopped treating every workout like I had to destroy myself. Getting enough sleep, eating enough protein, and taking rest days has made my training way more productive. It’s crazy how much progress happens when you stop trying to PR while exhausted.

Pull-ups. Went from barely getting 2 clean reps to knocking out sets of 8. Small thing compared to some people’s numbers, but I’m hyped about it.

The biggest win for me is that I don’t need motivation anymore. Six months ago I was constantly talking myself into going to the gym, and now it’s just part of my routine. Even on rough days I’ll get in, do what I can, and move on. That consistency has changed my physique more than any supplement ever did.

This is exactly where I’m at too. I used to think progress had to be some huge before-and-after moment, but honestly, being able to stay locked in when life gets busy feels like a bigger win.

I finally built shoulders that actually look like I lift.
