When Did Your Max Strength Finally Start Moving?

I've been thinking about max strength a lot lately and how different it is from just having a good workout. There were times when I trained hard every week but my squat, bench and deadlift barely moved. What finally helped was getting more consistent with my main lifts and actually tracking my progress I also stopped treating every session like a max-out day. I did more of better technique which made a bigger difference than I expected mainly on squat and deadlift. Recovery became another huge piece of the puzzle for me but once my sleep and food were more consistent heavy training felt much more manageable.
I also learned that adding weight isn't the only way to progress.
Cleaner reps, better control and stronger positions eventually translated into bigger numbers. For the powerlifters here what made the biggest difference to your max strength?

My deadlift improved when I stopped trying to make every rep look like a grinder. Better positioning off the floor made my heavier attempts much smoother. Sometimes fixing technique is basically free strength.

Sleep was my biggest change I had ignored sleep until I learnt on my heavy sessions feel completely different when I'm actually recovered it's boring advice but it works.

Man adding a little more bench volume helped me a lot.
I stopped chasing random variations nd spent more time getting better at the actual lift. That consistency finally showed up on my max.

I had to stop maxing out so often. Training heavy without constantly testing my limit worked much better for me and my actual max eventually went up because of it.

I think the biggest change for me was realizing that max strength isn't built by constantly testing your max I spent years thinking heavy singles were the answer to everything. Once I started treating them as a way to practice heavy technique instead of proving myself every session my training became much more consistent. My squat especially benefited from that approach.

Exactly man I used to think if I wasn't hitting something heavy every week I wasn't progressing but it turns out getting stronger at submaximal weights was doing most of the work.

For me it was finally taking technique seriously. My numbers started moving once I stopped rushing reps and focused on consistent setup yes the small improvements added up surprisingly fast.

Dude for me it was a combination of patience and actually recording everything I started noticing that my reps were getting cleaner even when the weight stayed the same. A few months later those cleaner reps translated into heavier lifts I also learned that recovery matters way more once the weights get serious. You can't treat sleep a nd food like optional extras and expect your max strength to keep climbing you see know.

That's so true bro sometimes the progress isn't obvious session to session but looking back after a few months makes the difference pretty clear.
