Feel-good off-topic thread - what actually got you into lifting? Everyone's got an origin story. Mine: got winded carrying shopping up the stairs at 25 and decided enough was enough. Best decision I ever made. What's yours?

Had kids and realised I wanted to be a strong, healthy, present dad who could keep up with them. Started lifting in the garage during nap times and never looked back. Best thing I do for myself and them.

Honestly? Got tired of being the skinny kid who felt invisible. Wanted to feel strong and take up some space in the world. Two years in and it's changed how I carry myself way more than how I look.

Postpartum, wanting my strength and identity back after having my daughter. Lifting gave me something that was mine and made me feel powerful again. It's about so much more than the physical now.

A knee injury and a physio who put me in a gym to rehab it. Came for the rehab, stayed for the iron. Funny how a setback turned into the best habit of my life.

Mental health, for me. Lifting was the one hour a day that quieted my head. The physical stuff was a bonus - I stayed because of what it did for my mind. Still the reason I train.

These are brilliant and genuinely moving - strength, family, identity, rehab, mental health. Different doors into the same room. Thanks for sharing everyone, this is why I love this place.
