Why do I look big in the gym but average everywhere else?

I swear I look solid under gym lights with a pump, then I get home or see myself in regular lighting and it’s like I’m a different person. Makes it hard to judge real progress. Is it just lighting + pump messing with my head or does it mean I’m not actually putting on enough size yet? Curious how you guys track real physique changes without relying on gym mirrors.

That’s just pump + lighting, bro. Gyms are literally set up to make you look bigger.

Yeah totally normal. You’re comparing pumped vs flat. Everyone looks smaller outside the gym.

Doesn’t mean you’re not growing though. It just takes time before it shows without a pump.

Biggest mistake is relying on mirrors. They’ll mess with your head more than help.

Take pics under the same lighting every week. That’s the only way I started seeing real progress.

Also glycogen plays a role. When you’re pumped you’re full, outside you’re kinda depleted.

Honestly once you get bigger, even your “no pump” look improves. Just takes time.

Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense. I’ve been judging progress off random mirror checks, probably why it feels inconsistent. Gonna start tracking with pics instead.
