: Dealing with Elbow Pain from Triceps Work – Any Fixes?

My elbows have been killing me every time I hit skull crushers or dips. Tried changing form, didn’t help much. Anyone dealt with this and actually fixed it?

Happened to me last year. It turned out it was just inflammation from doing too much volume. I swapped skull crushers for rope pushdowns for a few weeks, and it calmed down.

Could be triceps tendonitis, man. Try ice after workouts and stay away from heavy extensions for a bit.

Yeah, I was doing heavy close-grip bench and skull crushers in the same session. Probably too much stress.

Yup, that’ll do it. I limit direct triceps work when pressing heavy. You only need 1–2 solid triceps movements if you’re already benching a lot.

Add some high-rep band pushdowns before your heavy sets. It warms up the elbows nicely.

Also check your grip width too narrow puts extra strain on the joint.

Good call. I’ll try wider grip next time. Gonna give my elbows a week off too.

Smart move. A week of rest + light band work usually clears it up. Don’t push through elbow pain, it just gets worse.

Elbows hate ego lifting. Warm them up, stay patient. Been there, I learned the hard way.
