🏋️ How Often Are You Actually Training Each Muscle Group?

I’ve been thinking more about training frequency lately because there are so many different opinions on how often you should hit each muscle. Some lifters train everything once a week, while others hit the same muscle two or even three times and seem to keep progressing.
For me, the interesting part isn’t just how many days you train—it’s whether the muscle is actually recovering and getting enough quality work to grow. There’s a big difference between productive volume and just piling on sets because you feel like you should. 💪
How often are you actually training each muscle group right now? Are you running PPL, upper/lower, full-body, a bro split, or something else—and have you noticed a real difference after changing your training frequency?

Twice a week. Works great for me. 🔥

I’m running upper/lower four days a week, so everything gets hit twice. I like the balance because I can push the volume without feeling destroyed after every workout.

I used to train each muscle once a week and absolutely hammer it with volume. 😂 Moving to twice-weekly frequency changed the game for me because I can spread the sets out, keep my form cleaner, and actually progress instead of spending half the week recovering.

That’s what I’m starting to notice too. Quality reps seem way more important when you’re splitting the volume across the week.

Chest twice. Back twice. Legs twice. Arms get extra work from compounds. 💪

I’m still running a traditional bro split, and honestly, I’m not rushing to change it. Chest Monday, back Tuesday, shoulders Wednesday, legs Thursday, arms Friday. If I’m adding reps or weight and recovering well, I don’t see a reason to fix something that’s working.

Three times a week for back has been money for me. I use one heavier pull session, one hypertrophy day, and then some lighter rows or pulldowns later in the week. It gives me more practice with the movements without turning every session into a max-effort grind. 🔥

The indirect work matters too. My biceps get smoked from pulling and my triceps already get plenty from bench and overhead pressing, so I don’t need to blast them with endless isolation sets.

Full-body three days. Simple. Effective.
