What Workout Split Is Actually Working for Your Muscle Gain in 2026? 💪🔥

The biggest takeaway from these replies is probably that there isn’t one magic split.
A routine you can recover from, progress on, and follow consistently seems to beat an “optimal” program you quit after three weeks.

I’m doing 4 days and keeping most workouts around an hour. With work and everything else going on, that’s much easier for me to maintain long term.

PPL here
Still keeping it pretty basic: squat/hinge, presses, pulls, then accessories. I track everything in my phone so I know whether I’m actually progressing.

I stopped changing programs every month. That was probably my biggest mistake. I’ve stayed with the same basic routine for several months, adjusted volume when needed, and finally started seeing consistent progress.

4-day upper/lower has been my favourite so far. I get enough frequency, plenty of recovery, and I don’t feel destroyed by Friday. For me, being able to repeat the routine week after week is what makes it work.
