Building a More Aesthetic Physique Through Proportional Training
Re: Building a More Aesthetic Physique Through Proportional Training
Upper chest and lateral delts made the biggest visual difference for me. Once those started coming up, my whole upper body looked more developed even though my scale weight barely changed.

I also pay more attention to execution now. I used to chase numbers and sacrifice form toward the end of sets, but slowing things down and controlling the movement has made my training feel much more productive.

The waist-to-shoulder ratio is huge for the aesthetic look. You don't necessarily need an enormous amount of muscle if your shoulders and back are developed well and you're reasonably lean.
Re: Building a More Aesthetic Physique Through Proportional Training
One thing I learned is that the muscles you enjoy training aren't always the muscles your physique needs most. I love arms and chest, so naturally I wanted to give them more work, but eventually I had to accept that my legs, rear delts, and back needed the extra attention.
Re: Building a More Aesthetic Physique Through Proportional Training
I'm much more patient with physique changes now. Instead of expecting my body to look different every few weeks, I’m looking at the bigger picture—better proportions, gradual strength progression, enough protein and calories, consistent training, and good recovery. When you stay with that for several months, the small improvements start becoming noticeable, and that's when the whole physique begins to look more complete.
