I'm currently in that exact phase. The scale hasn't moved much, but my waist is down and my upper body is filling out. I'm finally starting to understand what people mean by recomposition.

My biggest lesson has been patience. You can't judge a training program from two good weeks or two bad weeks. Give it months, track the important numbers, and let the trend tell you what's actually happening.

That's probably the biggest thing I've learned too. I used to change my diet or workout every time progress slowed down. Now I'm trying to stay consistent long enough to actually see whether something works.

This is why I take progress pictures every 4 weeks now. I don't expect to look dramatically different every month, but after 6–12 months the difference can be pretty wild. The scale might tell you that you're the same weight, while the mirror tells a completely different story.
