I keep a simple spreadsheet with my main lifts, reps, body weight, and waist measurement. Nothing fancy, but looking back after a few months makes it easier to spot whether I’m actually progressing or just going through the motions. 📊

I pay attention to endurance now, too. I used to think progress was only about adding plates, but being able to finish a hard leg session and still have energy for some cardio is a big improvement for me. Strength, conditioning, and recovery all play a role in how I feel outside the gym.

Progress photos every four weeks have been my biggest reality check. Same lighting, same poses, and similar conditions make it easier to notice changes without obsessing over the mirror every day. I also track my waist and a few key lifts, because looking better and performing better don’t always happen at the exact same pace. Consistency with the process has made a huge difference for my mindset. 💯

I track my pull-ups, sleep, and waist size. Those three tell me a lot about how training is going.

For me, the biggest non-scale win is getting stronger while staying relatively lean. During my current lean bulk, I track weekly weight averages, gym performance, and progress pictures. If my lifts are improving and my measurements are moving in the direction I want, I’m not going to panic over a random jump on the scale. It’s all about looking at the bigger picture and making adjustments based on actual trends instead of emotions. 🏋️‍♂️

I’ve started taking a similar approach with my own tracking. One bad workout or a few days of scale fluctuations don’t tell the whole story. Looking at trends in strength, measurements, recovery, and photos gives me a more complete picture. I think that’s especially important when your goal is building a physique that looks good and performs well.

I track my waist and how my lifts feel during a cut. Holding onto strength while leaning out is a pretty solid sign that my approach is working. 🔥

I use a notes app for my workouts and take photos once a month. I used to weigh myself every morning and overthink everything, but now I care more about the trend and how my clothes fit. The scale still has a place, especially when you’re tracking a specific goal, but it’s not the only thing that matters. My biggest improvement has been learning to stay consistent when the numbers aren’t moving as fast as I want.

Sleep and recovery are huge for me. If I’m consistently hitting my workouts, recovering between sessions, and maintaining good performance, I count that as progress even when my body weight is stable. 💪

I track strength, waist measurements, and monthly progress pics. Seeing my lifts improve while my physique changes gives me a much better understanding of what’s happening than the scale alone. I also keep an eye on my energy levels and how my clothes fit, because those little details add up over time. No need to freak out over every daily weigh-in when the long-term trend is moving in the right direction.
