💪 Are Lifters Finally Choosing Strength Progress Over Just Looking Strong?
Re: 💪 Are Lifters Finally Choosing Strength Progress Over Just Looking Strong?
I used to max out constantly because I thought that was the fastest way to get strong. Now I’m much more focused on building solid volume and letting the PR happen when I’m actually ready for it.
Re: 💪 Are Lifters Finally Choosing Strength Progress Over Just Looking Strong?
Exactly. I’m learning that strength progress is a long game. Some weeks the bar barely moves, but if the technique improves or I squeeze out an extra rep, I still count that as progress.

A stronger version of you is the goal.

The biggest change for me was stopping the comparison game. Someone else might bench more than me, but if my own numbers are going up month after month, I’m good with that.

Getting stronger also makes everyday training feel more rewarding. You start noticing that weights that used to feel intimidating are now part of your normal working sets.

I think that’s the best mindset. Looking better is cool, but knowing you can squat, bench, or deadlift more than you could six months ago gives you something concrete to build on. The mirror can change day to day, but a real strength PR is hard evidence that your work is paying off.
