I’m all about convenience now. Rotisserie chicken, microwave rice, bagged salad, and some avocado makes a solid meal when I get home late from the gym.

The ingredient-prep idea is actually smart. I get bored when I cook five identical containers on Sunday, so having different sauces and toppings might make meal prep way more sustainable.

I stopped trying to make my diet perfect and started making it realistic. I keep a few “default meals” that I genuinely like, then switch the flavors depending on the week—Mexican-style bowls, Asian-inspired beef and rice, turkey pasta, breakfast burritos, or salmon with potatoes. It keeps my nutrition on track without making every meal feel like bodybuilding punishment.

Breakfast burritos are my cheat code.

For me, consistency got way easier once I stopped thinking that every meal had to look like a fitness influencer’s meal prep. I just focus on getting a solid protein source, some carbs, vegetables or fruit, and enough overall food to support my training. That approach feels much more realistic when you’re working, commuting, lifting, and trying to have an actual life too.
