I’m experimenting with a hybrid routine right now—two upper-body days, one lower-body day, and one full-body session. It gives me enough flexibility that if work gets crazy and I miss a day, I don’t feel like my whole week is ruined.

That flexibility is huge.

I’ve started looking at my program less like a rigid Monday-through-Sunday checklist and more like a framework I can adjust around real life. If I have a rough week at work, I’d rather move a session than force a bad workout just to say I followed the schedule perfectly.

Honestly, I’m keeping it boring on purpose. Same main movements, progressive overload, good form, and enough recovery. The consistency is finally paying off.

I’m doing full body Monday, Wednesday, Friday with some light cardio on the other days. It’s been perfect for my schedule because I can train each major muscle group regularly without needing to live inside the gym.

PPL worked great for me when I had plenty of free time, but once I started working longer hours, four days became much more realistic. That was probably the biggest lesson for me—your “best” program means nothing if your lifestyle makes it impossible to follow consistently.

I’m currently running upper/lower and tracking everything in an app. Weight, reps, sets, and even how the session felt. Seeing those numbers slowly climb over several months is way more motivating than constantly jumping between random workouts I see online.
